Taleb Al-Refai is a Kuwaiti novelist and short story writer whose narrative style is characterized by a unique blend of autofiction and social realism, frequently introducing himself as a character (an engineer or writer) within his novels. His writing is deeply concerned with class dynamics, the lives of marginalized foreign workers, and the hidden struggles of middle-class families in the Gulf.
