Abdullah Nasser

An acclaimed Saudi novelist, short-story writer, and translator based in Riyadh. Widely praised for his minimalist prose style, acute psychological precision, and evocative symbolism, Nasser is the recipient of the Riyadh International Book Fair Award (Literature Prize) for his collection Stuck on a Sunday (Al-Aaliq fi Yawm Ahad). His celebrated collection, The Art of Giving Up (Fann Al-Takhalil), was translated into French by Éditions L’Harmattan (L’art de l’esquive). He achieved widespread international literary acclaim when his debut novel, This Is Not a Bullet, was shortlisted for the prestigious Naguib Mahfouz Medal for Literature by the American University in Cairo Press (AUC Press) in 2026. A frequent contributor to prominent cultural journals across the Arab world, Nasser is celebrated for his delicate, razor-sharp excavations of family secrets, trauma, and domestic silence.
