Abdullah Al-Busais

An acclaimed Kuwaiti novelist, poet, and member of the Kuwait Writers Association. He is the recipient of the Sharjah International Book Fair Award for Best Arabic Novel (2017) and the Kuwait State Encouragement Prize (2020) for his landmark desert novel Taste of the Wolf (Ta’m Al-Dhi’b, translated into Mandarin). He achieved widespread international acclaim when his striking psychological mystery M for Murderer: S for Sa’id was longlisted for the prestigious International Prize for Arabic Fiction in 2021. Author of notable works including Stray Memories and Man is a Lonely Creature, Al-Busais is celebrated for combining gritty detective noir with philosophical depth, sharp social observation, and nuanced psychological realism.
