Khaled Nasrallah

An acclaimed Kuwaiti novelist, short-story writer, and publisher. Co-founder of publishing houses Nova Plus and Dar Al-Khan, Nasrallah is recognized as one of the most innovative and daring voices of his generation in contemporary Gulf literature. He achieved widespread international acclaim when his dystopian masterwork The White Line of Night was shortlisted for the prestigious International Prize for Arabic Fiction in 2022, with its English translation shortlisted for the English PEN Translates Award. He is the winner of the BBC Arabic and Al-Arabi Magazine Short Story Prize (2013) and was longlisted for the Sheikh Zayed Book Award for his novel The Highest Abyss (2017). Renowned for his taut existential thrillers, dark dystopian realism, and sharp psychological dissection of bureaucratic authority and intellectual repression, his celebrated works include Zajel, Heresy, The Platform, and Circumambulating the Palm Tree.
