Karima Ahdad

An acclaimed Moroccan novelist, journalist, and digital content creator based in Istanbul. Holding a Master’s degree in Political Communication from the Higher Institute of Information and Communication (ISIC) in Rabat, Ahdad is recognized as one of the boldest and most compelling feminist voices of her generation. She is the recipient of prestigious literary honors, including the Mohamed Zafzaf Prize for the Arabic Novel (2020) for her debut novel Cactus Girls, the Moroccan Writers’ Union Award for Young Writers (2015), and first prize in the 2024 ArabLit Story Prize. Renowned for her psychological depth, sharp irony, and uncompromising prose, Ahdad’s widely translated fiction fearlessly explores female autonomy, bodily politics, toxic intimacy, and the complex social realities of contemporary Morocco.
