She is the author of the critically acclaimed debut novel Nothing is Entirely Black (La Shay’ Aswad Bikalimih), which was awarded a publication grant from the Canada Council for the Arts for its English translation. The daughter of prominent Lebanese author Yousra Mokaddem, Taweil is celebrated for her meta-fictional innovation, visual prose style, and fearlessly acute excavations of modern memory, female agency, and spatial trauma.
