Aisha Ibrahim

An acclaimed Libyan novelist, editor and statistician. She holds a degree in Mathematics and Statistics and served as Editor-in-Chief for the Libyan Ministry of Culture’s digital portal and the High National Elections Commission. Ibrahim rose to international literary prominence as a two-time longlisted author for the International Prize for Arabic Fiction for her novels The War of the Gazelle (2020) and The Box of Sand (2023). Recipient of the State Student Award for Playwriting and the Libyan Ministry of Culture Innovation Medal (2020), her deeply researched, empathetic narratives masterfully excavate forgotten chapters of North African history, fearlessly examining war trauma, colonial violence, and human dignity.
