Abdo Wazen

An acclaimed Lebanese poet, novelist, and leading literary critic. Having long served as the head of the cultural section at the prestigious Al-Hayat newspaper, he is widely recognized as one of the most authoritative voices in modern Arab literary journalism. He is the recipient of the Sheikh Zayed Book Award for Children’s Literature (2012) for his celebrated novel The Boy Who Saw the Color of Air. Author of several influential poetry collections and novels -including Open Heart, The Garden of Senses, No Face in the Mirror, and Life Is Not a Novel (longlisted for the International Prize for Arabic Fiction)- Wazen’s deeply introspective, meta-literary prose masterfully explores the intricate boundaries between reading, memory, war trauma, and the human condition.
